Hi everyone. I am pleased to present my Top 18 images from this years photographic travels and explorations. This year I stayed a little closer to home and spent more time in some of my favorite places as well as exploring several new locations. I have not loaded these images in any specific order and I also did not limit them to a Top 12. Out of the hundreds of image I made these photographs essentially represent my favorites because of what they ultimately mean to me. To that extent these photographs are more personal because they showcase new departures in how I am attempting to make images and explore composition. Some of them showcase new explorations of techniques in the digital darkroom and some of them represent ongoing photographic projects. I would like to think that these images are more intimate than many of the grand landscapes I have photographed over the last few years. Part of that can be attributed to the locations I have visited but part of it is a deliberate attempt to see the landscape in this way. Water is an overarching theme in many of the images but I hope you also see some subtle capture of delicate light and an attempt to make more engaging compositions. In the end I just hope you enjoy these shot as much as I enjoyed making them.
Note: If you Click on any of the images they will open into a Lightbox Mode that will allow you use the Left and Right Arrow to navigate through the photographs.
This year proved to be quite busy as I co-lead on my first Photography Workshop with Adventures In Light Photography Workshops. I have two new workshops coming up in 2016, both of them in my home state of West Virginia. You can get more information by going to the Workshops/Tours Link on this site.
I would like to personally thank my two sponsors, MOAB by Legion Paper, and Singh-Ray Filters, for their continued support. I could not do the creative work I do with printing on the finest papers made, or capturing the subtle nuances of light without the best filters in photography. Thank you both for all that you do to help me.
And finally thank you to all of you who support this site and follow my work. I take a great deal of pleasure in being able to capture such beautiful places and present them to you. Happy New Year to all of you and I look forward to bring you more images in 2016. RHC
