I took quite a few photo walks, which my fellow shooter, Kevin Brookes, and I often referred too as "photo-parkours", while working on a multi year project in St Louis. This is the last shot I made, on my last trip, and my last last parkour through the city. I think its uplifting, (sorry about the bad pun). There was quite the festival happening in this plaza in the city center with music, the Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile, and these balloons. For previous trips, and for different photographic requirements I hauled a lot more camera equipment, but on this one it was just a Leica M and two lenses. A simple kit for the last walk. This ended up being a timing shot where I waited for both pilots to ignite the burners and I under exposed by a stop so I would not blow out the light in the balloons. It worked out quite well and I even nabbed a light-star as a bonus.
